Just want to write one thing more......
Please keep in mind that all we did was because of our sponsors. All the things we did was because of your help !!!! Thank you very very much.
I hope you got a good idea what I did with your help.
I forgot to tell you about the cinema!!!!! We went to Shrek 3...
As I told before I will spent some money on the houses for the older kids but also I desided to send some money to Be-More to make sure that Wandile, a special needed child, will be able to stay at the special school he goes to. This kid is a sweet kid but needs special care. He can get very angry because he can not exprese himself. I attach some pictures of him. On the picture you see him next to a little child that was not feeling well that day and he just layed down beside here. He is very cheerfull and loving.
Also some more photos........
After all this experience we need to say goodbye....Goodbye to all the people we just met. We have made new friends and learned a lot from all these people. That is why we need a good goodbye. We first organised a lunch for the aunties, uncles and Pamela (the lady who keeps a control at Agape). We repect them very much for all the things they do and showed us many things. They do it their way and it is a good way for the kids. Also we had to say goodbye to our drive/friend Baba he has been helping out getting from A to B safely. Also he gave as an opportunity to go to his church which has been also a great experience. Also goodbye to our coordinator Tessa and Gunter. Thank you for beeing there when we needed you most. The diner we had was great fun. And we, as a group of volunteers we needed to split up. Each goes their way but all with the same experience.
One of the hardest days for me. We visited the dream centre. It's a clinic where people suffering from Aids can get helped out. It's a shame some people just come in to late. We have seen people that were in a very bad stage. It was a hard experience. I was already prepared to see some difficult things but it was even worse. When we got to the clinic we got some fruit, candies and newsletters for the patients. The first room I got in was a gentleman sitting on his bed. I sad hello and how he was doing.....looks not like a normal question but it's an opening.....After that I asked him if he wanted to read someting......He laughed, and told me that he was blind....not really a good start for me.....but he took it well......so I offered him some food. After him I did not had any more conversations, because the patients were in very bad condition. We gave them all some food and I left the newpapers and magazines in the coffee room.
As you have seen at the beginning we started to finish the wall around Agape. We have finished it with help of the children. Also we put a protection coat on top of the other paintings. The day we did it we finished with a water fight as it is was really warm day.....we can be proud of the job it looks good.
The new building is almost ready. It has some rooms for the boys and girls. Separate toilets and showers. One day an english girl got new bunkbeds and sheets for the children. With here we made all the beds and we hung up new posters we bought. Some famouse rap artist, some pop idols ect.....everywhere the children like the same.
It was a good feeling to see the reaction of the children, they were really exited. For the moment they can not sleep there yet because of electricity. But it is real !!!!!!! And it will be a big change for them. Now sharing beds and than one bed for each child!!!!!!
IT WAS A GREAT DAY !!!!!!!
The little children like to have a nice bath. For us it's normal thing everday to have a bath. Some of us even can make a choise of having a bath or a shower
. But for the children at agape it is not that normal. They only have at this moment a shower with all 46 children. Ofcourse the four aunties can not take every day the time to bath the little children so we take the little kids once week to have a party in bath. This also includes a snack ofcourse. Some children really come to life after their bath. Altough I think it might be a good thing to change the way......We do first bath than a snack but see the pictures maybe it's agood thing to change that hahahahahah.....It was alway a big party as much for them as for us.
Aqu? estoy otra vez...
gracias a vosotros! Por ejemplo, ir a la granja con 13 ni?os cost? 145 rand
= 15 euros (3 paquetes de galletas holandesas). Creo que estoy gastando
vuestro dinero bien, comida, medicinas, pa?ales, pintura, transporte, etc...
Here I am again...Sorry I am not able to write to much and to often. But I will when I am back. I like to spend a lot of time with the children and so there is no time for internet. We have been doing a lot already with the kids..Beach with all the kids from 6 years on, Girls night, Boys night and with the little ones to a farm. They love it ! And to make these kids happy it is possible because of you! For example the farm with 13 kids was 145 rand = 15 euros (3 package of dutch cookies) I think I am spending your money well, food, medicines, dipers, paint, transportation etc...all the basic they need. Also I am donating 3000 euros for 1 of the 5 little houses for the kids. Will give you more details at the end of the month. I am really happy that we can help out. I am really feeling we are doing someting good. The children are very friendly and we feel very welcome. I wish I could let you all experience what I am going trough here. Mixed feelings but all good.
Wow Here I am, the time goes fast. I have been here now a week.
My first week has been great. There are around 46 kids, age 1 month untill 1 years. In the morning the little kids (untill 3 years) stay around the "house" (big containers, where they all sleep, with one kitchen and a playground)The children older than 3, and to young to go to school
they get educated by Pamela (the most kindly woman in the whole world, who takes the reponsability for all of them) in a little room, newly builded next to the containers. The older children go to school. They have to get up at 5 in the morning to able to be at school at 8.00hrs. It's ofcourse difficult to get them all ready on time. All the children are very independend. Even the babies!!!
Also english version....
